The great thing about this is that we understand a couple of important points about how those paintings were made.
Have we had this one before? I recall some discussion of “To Serve Man”. But not this trope of “The old surprise ending is so familiar and boring, we have to put in a different twist.”
And no, it shouldn’t be the other way around!

Not quite the sharply-targeted (some might say mean) comic strip parodies Super-Fun-Pak Comix is in part known for, this linked sequence seems more like documenting and mildly kidding off some familiar tropes. Do you agree that there is something pretty artful in the selection, sequencing, and linking of the comic old-standards?

Some oddities come with having multiple editors. One of the editors (mitch4) says this is a “semi-CIDU Geezer.” The other one (Winter Wallaby) found this a CIDU that made him LOL anyway. So it gets all the tags.
