Sunday Funnies, LOLs – March 9, 2025

Not confusing enough to be a CIDU, but a couple of questions. There’s the English expression “Too many cooks spoil the broth”, which makes sense because you can mess up a broth or soup by messing up the seasoning (Italian herbs make a good soup; Indian spicing makes a good soup; adding both does not make a good soup). But toast?

Second, there’s 23. That’s probably just a random number pick here, but even the most casual fan recognizes 23 as Michael Jordan’s and LeBron James’s number: undeniably two of the greatest basketball players ever.

FYI: PM is short for Project Manager.

On dating shows, the contestants are hoping. Here they are also hopping.

Shark week!

Shark week 2023 began July 23, so when I started this accumulation some months ago I assumed it would be the same week in 2024, and scheduled it for then. But I guess the chaos around the Discovery / HBO / Warner merger confused even the sharks, and shark week was last week.

Cracking up, or crackering up?

It doesn’t quite fit into the “moon is made of green cheese” idea, because of the reference to personal experience.

The moon being made of green cheese probably deserves a geezer alert >50 years past the US moon landings, but a day later here it is again, in a non-CIDU.

Where did the green cheese idea even come from? The old theory that birds migrated to the moon made some sense centuries ago, but green cheese?

Ecce Homo

Thanks to Targuman, who says “Rather than Charles, wouldn’t he be any Tom, Dick, or Herodotus? He clearly got the human half of each so he is just…human.”

Meanwhile this has sent your editor to the dictionaries to figure out why Minotaur and Centaur weren’t both bullish.

But the CIDU factor mostly remains “Why Charles?” Or whatever leaves you scratching your head here…

(I was also going to ask why WuMo doesn’t appear on WaPo; but it turns out, it does. 🤷‍♂️ )
