But why GIN? Per Wikipedia, “gin” was simply short for engine in the 1700s, “cotton gin” literally meant “cotton engine,” and that name stuck far better than a functional description like “cotton seed remover.”

There is, of course, the running gag in Blondie in which Dagwood is interrupted in the bath. But that was used so often in lost any prurient effect and just the comic effect remained. And Dagwood somehow was always able to get a towel around critical parts.

From the expression on Henry’s face, I think that might be the case, though this seems odd and inappropriate for a DtM strip!

I get that the babysitter shouldn’t be sleeping on the job. But “pay up”?
Is there some sort of pun or cleverness associated with thinking of fixing a car like a medical operation? Or is the humor in that a woman might change a tire, rather than a man?
