When I saw this comic from Dan Collins, I was immediately reminded of Don Martin.
(I’ve blacked out a word in the comic, because Collins is making a political point, and we want to keep CIDU a politics-free zone.)
That’s different than Collins’ normal style, e.g.
It does provide an excuse to remember (fondly) the great Mad Magazine cartoonist Don Martin (1931-2000) whose cartoons were a regular delight in Mad from 1956 to 1988.
The first “Peanuts Day” retrospective ten weeks ago seemed to be reasonably popular, so here is another collection of Peanuts references and parodies, in honor of what would have been Charles M. Schulz’s 102nd birthday.

This “Cleats” strip was published early in the 2004 season, back when Kevin Brown was still a popular new acquisition for the Yankees, months before he became the notorious losing pitcher in game 7 of the ACLS (which at one point the Yankees had led 3:0). Kevin Brown retired just 16 months later, before the start of the 2006 season; I think Charlie Brown would have understood how he felt.

Kilby sends this in, wondering why it was run on September 11, 2022. There are some standard characters (Ahab, Diogenes, Napoleon), among others. I’ve earnestly tried to figure out the two characters in the upper right corner of the 2nd panel, but frankly I don’t get it.
But by hitting the random button at GoComics, I see many that are understandable in any language.

Ludwig is such a patient little guy! This semi-LOL is in truth mostly an Awww for the ailurophile crowd. And the White Meat Chicken Florentine from Fancy Feast Medleys in the 3oz can with green label is a standby in the Mitch4 household.
