Kedamono sends this in as an “Ewww”: “I mean, YouTube videos on potty training? Yikes! Also, isn’t he a bit too young to have his own phone?”
Comics I Don't Understand 
1) Potty training videos need not be graphic. Sesame Street made some.
2) It may not be “his” phone; it might be a parent’s phone he borrowed to watch videos on.

I think “paid by the hour” is meant to contrast with “salaried” rather than “paid by the trip, or the message count”. So he experiences no penalty for dawdling. Nor for the (inefficient) system of riding out every time he has even one message to deliver.
