Well, it’s a double-entendre, so it qualifies, but not at all subtle. The next strip shows LuAnn has chosen a different title, which helps a little.
Earlier, LuAnn did tell Tara that Brad is married, but we didn’t see her disavowing any idea of flirting. Where is this leading? Do we trust Brad?
When a strip still has new material daily, but there is also a “classic” or “legacy” or “retro” version, and the current feed of the new ones does a story with memory or nostalgia, is it reasonable they would actually coordinate content?
TBH, this was for me more a chuckle than a full LOL. But I was wondering if others also see an analogy between the point here and our thread about interpreting “The exception proves the rule” from early January.
For that matter, what sort of thing was a “buck” in that saying, by the time HST talked about it?

Yes, the Arlo Award is still an ongoing operation! (The sequestered Arlo Page site is another matter.) The Award is for a somewhat racy or suggestive comic that by virtue of double entendre or sheer bluff can get past newspaper-oriented standards-and-practices.
This LuAnn Sunday strip was sent in by some CIDU stalwarts, most asking about the Arlo Award category, but one also counting it as a CIDU since the “spicy” reading is not unambiguous. And some have taken it to the GoComics comments thread, for that matter. Thanks to Bob Ball, Findus, Unca $crooge, and Karl.

It was renamed “peach” in 1962.
It’s rare to see a geezer reference that the writer is way too young for.
And of course this makes the comic absolutely pointless.
Does Tiffany have that startled expression because he knows it wasn’t Les’s hand that was waving?
