From Maggie the Cartoonist:

Both Dirk the Daring and Targuman independently sent this one in, from Barney & Clyde last Monday.

“I don’t get and I don’t think anybody commenting on it gets it either. I follow the strip, and I read the strips that led up to this and I still don’t get it,” says one of our spotters. Well, here are those previous strips (from the preceding Friday and Saturday):

And as the other spotter puts it, “What does his age have to do with it? If we take today’s strip (Wed.) the only thing is perhaps ‘are we too young to date?’ Maybe.” Here is that follow-up from Wednesday (which is “today” at the time of setting up this post):

P.S. And one more strip on this same plot line:

Thanks to Darren for sending these in. He says of the Loose Parts, “I’m wondering what made him give in. Has the mime just been standing in one spot for over a week or something?

Is there any more to the joke than the anachronism of the “ancient site” having a wheelchair ramp alongside the staircase (and a bit of matching signage)?

A find-the-hidden-names puzzle from Pearls Before Swine!

(Yes, displayed twice for some viewers.)
As we said for a previous puzzle comic from PBS, This is a CIDU in the sense that there is something to solve. Or nineteen somethings to solve! And they are sort of OYs, to boot.
P.S. Geographic solvers, please “meter” your answer counts, and leave something for others to contribute.

Is the joke simply that the pattern is not followed? Or do they find a special significance in the name “Wendy”?
P.S. for nostalgiasts here is a performance of the song half-referenced in the post title. And note that some of the lyrics do work for an avian such as Wendy, e.g. “And Windy has wings to fly / Above the clouds” . Hmm, maybe not quite above the clouds…
and you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your friend’s nose.
And targuman contributed this, noting
I admit, (A) I do select my seat on a flight and (B) didn’t get the joke until I read the comments.

This editor was still stumped after reading the comments!
Maggiethecartoonist sent this in.

Per Wikipedia, “Kombucha is a fermented, lightly effervescent, sweetened black tea drink commonly consumed for its purported health benefits. Sometimes the beverage is called kombucha tea to distinguish it from the culture of bacteria and yeast. Juice, spices, fruit or other flavorings are often added.”
Who’s on the other side of this war? Is this one of those Culture Wars that’s been in the news so much lately?
Jack Applin sends in this one. “I understand the initial gag about ‘coloring’ books. The rest stumps me. We thought he was on an isolated island, but, really, the island was quite close to shore. AND … ?”
