Rubes Cubed

Your editor, a statistician, finds it interesting that the question of “where are there a lot of horses?” depends somewhat on how you map the data. All 3 maps are from Brilliant Maps, with the data originating with the USDA. For example, Fayette County, KY is #1 in horses per square mile, but not even in the top 10 in horses per capita.

Old Men

JMcAndrew sends in these two, with an old man theme: “Trying to figure this one out. I’ve seen the movie “Grumpy Old Men” and don’t think that Walter Matthau looks anything like Saddam Hussein.”

JMcAndrew: I get the joke and I have seen “Blow Out” which is actually an excellent film. Submitted as an obvious eww but also considered that Travolta is now over 70 it wouldn’t be that surprising to find out he does have need for incontinence products.

Still a CIDU

Now your editor has to rant a bit. I didn’t sign onto GoComics on April 1, because I was busy that day. When I tried to sign in to the “new and improved site” on April 2, about 8:15 pm CDT, I couldn’t. I asked for a password reset, which requires sending a verification email (pretty standard). After 30 minutes and 3 resend tries, a verification email never arrived. The help screen is less than helpful:

Ziggy Goes to the Movies

JMcAndrew sends this one in: “There’s a new Disney Snow White movie in the theater today and although I haven’t seen it yet I don’t think it’s going to be X-Rated. Also I want to point out that if you look really closely under the banner that says “X-rated” you can see the feet of the dwarves who are apparently participating in an orgy. … I think Ziggy himself is a “little person” so maybe he is just going to see it out of a sense of solidarity.”
