Okay, how did you get Monday’s Bizarro when it is just barely Sunday for most of you (it’s still Saturday here)?

Corporate jargon also abounds in euphemisms. “Downsizing” is one, which then led to “rightsizing” — both euphemisms for firing large numbers of people.

There was a study some years ago using corporate annual reports. When news was good, active voice was used: “We increased sales 10%”. When the news was bad, passive voice tended to be used, e.g.: “Sales were down 10% due to decreased demand.”

@guero: subscribers to Comics Kingdom can look ahead a few days, so I often read them in clumps. [Like much else about both ComicsKingdom and GoComics, it does not always work well.]

guero-subscribing to Comics Kingdom offers the ‘perk’ of reading comics a week before they are available elsewhere.

The look-ahead can be a problem for Dick Tracy, as that appears on both CK and GoComics. There have been cases of people posting spoilers on GC. The Mute feature implemented last year helps with that.

Comics Kingdom and GoComics, until recently, both used similar comments software from OpenWeb. For whatever reason, GC’s worked much better than CK’s, rarely crashed, etc. Then, about a month ago, GC changed to a new system by ViaFoura, while CK is still limping along with a seriously buggy OW system. Sigh.

What I have found especially frustrating is that the subcontracted comments system doesn’t seem to care that I have a paid CK subscription and was reading comics under that sign-in — but when I went to comment it wanted me to make a separate sign-in under the commenting system.

Ah – left out (husband came down to help me switch laundry loads – so much easier to do laundry before he suddenly decided to help me – and confused me) The blank space after the third (or so) post on each strip with the new Gocomics setup confused me as did having to remember to open up the rest of the posts after the blank space for a few times.
