Sunday Funnies – LOLs – October 19, 2025

Maybe we need a “Yeah, right!” tag.

Other nominees: big hats, bustles and anything else from the Gone With The Wind era.

Mitch4 sends this in: “Finally! An answer to centuries of studying the question of theodicy!”

I’m probably not the only one who had to look this term up:

As I write this, the Jets are 0-6.

Reportedly, when artist Alex Raymond was overwhelmed on Secret Agent X-9 (he was drawing Flash Gordon and Jungle Jim at the same time), script writer Dashiell Hammett helpfully wrote several days of a stormy sea late at night with no characters visible.

I’m inclined to believe that we should accept Baldo’s explanation of Tia Carmen’s rule. Now, if it had been Baldo’s dad, Sergio, that would be a different story.

I’m not sure about art museums, but I understand that every so often lunatics (often young-Earth creationists) will show up at natural history museums with rocks that they claim are fossils proving that humans coexisted with dinosaurs or whatever other nonsense they’re on about, and demand that their priceless artifacts be put on display and all the exhibits about evolution be dismantled now that it’s been proven false. These people are usually removed as gently as possible.

But sometimes a museum will accept a submission if it’s truly worthwhile.

The old joke about [insert terrible team] goes something like:

“I have season tickets, but didn’t want to go to the game. So I put the two tickets under my wiper on the car parked on the street for anyone to take. When I got back, there were four tickets.”

As to seersucker, I have a couple shirts of that weave, and they are wonderful for hot weather, the puckeredness of the cloth keeping it off the skin and allowing for better air-circulation. Compared to a similar weight cotton shirt, but with a flat weave, the flat weave shirt gets all wet and sticky wearing it on a muggy summer day…
Not that I tend to wear suits, but if I did have to wear one in summer, I could see wanting one of seersucker weave.
Why don’t we all just agree that de gustibus non est disputandum?
