B.A.: Is “deconstructed food” a thing? This seems to want to be an “artisanal food” joke, or better yet “Ordering a BLT at the restaurant in Ikea.”

Okay, basically he’s saying he might as well not have bothered wearing a shirt and shoes because the rule here isn’t “No shirt, no shoes, no service,” but rather “No serif, no service.”

But… is “serif” supposed to sound like “shirt”? I seem not to be getting what makes this an actual joke.
