Because so many people were stuck at home, we’ve been sharing daily wake-up music; and also, I’ve been posting two regular CIDUs every weekday: one at the normal 12:02am Eastern Time, and another around noon. As always there were often other posts during the day, but those two were set in stone.
Today we return to our The World is Slightly Less %@#$ed Up schedule: a CIDU at 12:02am, and other posts whenever.
This was, not surprisingly, always intended to be the final Morning Wake-Up song — in fact, as I write this and place in the queue, I’m not even sure when it’s going to be posted. My guess would be the second half of June.
Hopefully, we won’t have to start this up again later in the year. Keep safe, friends.
Apparently three weeks ago, there was some expectation that municipal fireworks displays would be happening today.
(Let’s not even discuss why Id would have 4th of July fireworks: Id and BC-land exist outside of rational space and time, and we just have to accept that)
Firecracker was loud.

Hopefully by then the Great Quarantine of 2020 will largely be over and “Music to Get Us Started During the Lockdown” will have gone the way of ChadWatch and While We’re Waiting for the Download, and this will just be something fun to listen to a Saturday morning.
I find this version infinitely more appealing than the one in Hamilton, because there’s no sense of “Look how cool we are, and I bet you’re glad you paid $1200 for your ticket.”
I also like the idea of Peggy, an adult (historically accurate) who seems to act like a child (probably not historically accurate), being played by an actual child.
