I’ve been to plays where this would have been justified.
There’s a local nonprofit professional theater that has one performance specifically set aside for the understudies to perform. (That’s noted on the schedule, so you aren’t going to be surprised.) That seems like a wonderful idea.
A momentary CIDU, maybe a bit of Ewww, but in the end an OY.
