I vaguely recall some eccentric psychological theorizing, perhaps derived from Jung and the “collective unconscious” concept, that the many cross-cultural stories about dragons derive from ancient memories of dinosaurs (yes, biologically inherited in part, though also culturally). No matter that proto-humans and dinos never coexisted….

A more logical derivation would be discoveries of dinosaur bones by ancient (or pre-historic) societies.

The Creation Museum has statues of the dinosaurs that went on the Ark. Critics have taken to calling them “Jesus ponies.”

Mr. Walker may have nailed it. The assertion that humans and dinosaurs coexisted is often tied to fundamentalist beliefs, so here it’s being tied ridiculously close.

A few years back, Rick and Morty did a song called ‘Jesus Was a Dinosaur’. If this cartoon was published after that, perhaps it’s an homage to that…or vice versa, I suppose. A bit obscure, and not very satisfying as answers go, but whatcha’ gonna’ do? Pray for a solution, I guess.
