Suggested by a reader who noticed something immediately after pressing Send on our handy-dandy Suggest-A-Cidu form, and thereupon wanted to retract! But we didn’t think that spelling solves all the mystery in this panel! What is that pet, how did it happen, are there more like it ..?
Whatever it was, it’s pureed now.

Yeah, Urban has it, the puddle is the pet. Qualifies for an Eww in my book.

There are those who claim that all cats are liquid. They fill the space into which they’re poured.

My cats sometimes get Temptations Purées as a treat. I recently started seeing video ads for these and of course in the tradition of cat people being unable to resist turning words into cat-related puns, the product is referred to as Purrrrr-ee.
In this second one, you can hear him say the product name very early in the clip, and it’s relatively subtle but definitely has the word “purr” in it.

So would that lap dog lap up the pureebreed?

Depending on the pens used by the artist, it could be a puree-bred Sharpie. Or maybe just a puree-bred Puddle.

While we’re enjoying that Eric Scott, here’s another that I suppose I get, although it uses an expression I doubt is common. Have you ever heard anyone described as “full of monkeys”?

Never heard that. And that’s not what “barrel full of monkeys” means, so it’s still a CIDU for me.

I think that phsiiicidu is giving the answer to the monkey one. A “Daryl full of monkeys” is just a guy named Daryl who has eaten so much monkey that he has no room.for another helping. I think that the whole point of the joke is the Daryl/barrel rhyme.
But my question would be where are Larry and the other Daryl?

I think that phsiiicidu has the answer to the monkey one. Daryl has eaten so much monkey that he is full; he simply has no room for more. The point of the joke seems to be that a Daryl full of monkeys and a barrel full of monkeys are (obviously) very different.
(I’m sorry if you get this twice.)

Well I for one certainly remember my brother Daryl and my other brother Daryl!
(since your first try and second were not completely redundant, we un-spammed both)

Is a barrel of monkeys really that much fun? They’d probably all be dead on arrival when I open it. That’s depressing, not fun.

Frieda’s cat wasn’t liquid, but it was close:

If it’s a dog in the pureebred cartoon, it must be a French Puddle.

And then there’s a pure bread dog.
