I’ve often given Bill a hard time when he posts a CIDU as “So the jokes is this lame thing and that’s not it, is it” and the answer is “Yes, that is all there is to it”.
In this one I feel exactly like that. “Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown” is a famous line from the movie Chinatown. Here Candyland sounds like a compound nicknamey place name like Chinatown. So it’s two game tokens from the game Candy Land saying the line but with Chinatown replaced with Candyland. And that’s all there is to it.
It’s hard to imagine what mind could possibly think that is enough but… that’s all there is.
@woozy: notice the “not a CIDU” tag?
But . . . it WAS a CIDU for at least two of us . . . and now it’s a CIU . . . thanks to Woozy.
I’m surprised it doesn’t have a geezer tag.
Chinatown reference. The Jake game token has a bandage on his “nose” like Jake (you know what happens to nosey boys” Gittes. (Jack Nicholson)
Also notice that “Jake” has a bandage on his nose. That goes back to a scene in “Chinatown”. If they were actually candy I would suspect that it was bitten off. As game pieces, I dunno.
Arthur, does a classic movie really need a Geezer tag?
This is a CIDU for me – a vowel, please?

And I don’t get it either . . .
