I understand every word of this, yet have no idea how any of it ties together.
I feel this worth mentioning (or repeating, since I’m old and have no idea whether I’ve already said various things): my entire teaching career totaled less than a year, yet I had no problem keeping kids like Caulfield from disrupting the class with irrelevant questions.
And I had some kids who were smarter than Caulfield.

I understand what he’s saying, but what’s the actual joke?


Other than the fact that we had an ice-covered tree rather than ice-covered statues, and of course no Christmas lights, this looks bizarrely similar to what happened to us a couple of weekends ago.

Ted, first report it to your insurance company, then give them time to compile a list of all the technicalities with which they’ll cut down on the amount of payment you’ll eventually see.
