Godot never arrives in the play “Waiting for Godot.” Weinersmith is pointing out that as long as Hollywood makes changes to stuff when movies are based on other media, why not make a cool change for once? Godot DOES show up, in a combat helicopter, and the three fly off to blow stuff up.

Actually, “I hereby release this to Hollywood.” Is the bonus or hover text. The “Summer 2027” bit is the Votey Panel. I think.

The Schwarzenegger move “Predator” had the infamous line, “Get to da chopper!”

I can’t explain how that ties into Waiting for Godot, but it must somehow.

Charles Addams had a cartoon of several seated men wearing sweatshirts. Each shirt was labeled: “Godot”, “The Robert E. Lee”, “Till the Sun Shines, Nellie”, etc. The open door carried the designation WAITING ROOM.

    I thought it was funny.

Ah. @TedD‘s addition is essential to getting it, and the cartoonist apparently assumed that anyone seeing his cartoon would have seen and remembered that movie.

@bensondonald‘s citation of Charles Addams is much funnier.
