When I see, in a major comic strip, a gag I’ve never seen before, and then about a month and a half later I see the exact same gag in a lesser-known comic strip, I have to say Hmmm…
I imagine this sort of shenanigans — of shenanigans it be — is a lot less common today than it would have been 60 years ago, when the likelihood that one person would follow both strips was negligible.
Kilby sent this to me asking whether Tralfamadorian is mainstream enough to be used here (leading to my question of what a “Tralfamadorian year” is)

B.A.: This might be the worst place to ask this, but… would you say it’s acceptable to use “à chacun son goût” when writing for a reasonably well-educated English speaking audience?

The Comics Fairy appears and tells you you can choose three comic strip characters to join you for the reminder of the isolation period. Whom would you choose to spend the next month (or more) with?
Keep in mind that they have to get along with one another as well: life is stressful enough without you having to keep breaking up fights.
It really shouldn’t change the core strip, since it’s almost entirely about Arlo, Janis and Luddie; but logically, Gene and Mary Lou’s farm stand must be circling the drain by now.
Even if this wasn’t Jimmy’s original plan, I wonder whether the kids are going to end up moving to the town where Arlo and Janis live.
I wouldn’t hate that.
B.A.: Is it just me, or is this comic in extraordinarily bad taste (without either making a point or offering a punchline)?
I just found out it’s been unusually cold outside for the past few days.
