…and look for the user name “looseparts”. According to other users, he was able to fix the version that went out to newspapers.
Powers–I think the online version goes out several days before the printed version, and there are ways to see those future strips. So the flub could be seen before printing and corrected. Maybe someone forgot on the day the strip went live online.
Don’t blame GoComics for this sort of thing. They don’t edit or curate strips. That is completely up to the content owners. As an example, a spelling mistake in Dick Tracy from 10/10 was later fixed and a new image uploaded.
It all depends on the folks receiving the strips via email. Some of them would probably say “Who cares, that was Monday’s strip, who read’s yesterday’s paper?”
Honestly, it comes down to Blazek not bothering to proofread. It’s all on him. Not that we don’t all make mistakes, but we can’t check and correct everything that comes to us. There’s no time.

That’s just bizarre that it could be fixed in newspapers but not online.

beckoningchasm — sure, but that’s the beauty of online: it could be fixed after publication.

That would assume a level of diligence on the part of GoComics that does not seem warranted.
