On the same force with that dispatcher was a detective, S.G. Murphy — all the worst criminals around town complained “Shirley Gustafson Murphy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
“Our Boston police dispatcher is Colleen Allcars” would have been a great credits name for “Car Talk” on NPR. Not as great as their Russian dry cleaner, Pikov Andropov, but…..
I enjoyed that list whenever they used it in their closing! And of course that was always a selection, and a complete list could be found on their website. Among my favorites were the whole Payne-Diaz clan :-)
Those “credits” remind me of back 45+ years ago when a friend played intramural hockey at university. One of the teams called themselves The Russians, and their names on their sweaters were things like JACKOV and F***OV (but not with asterisks). We thought they were pretty clever at the time.
