So, what is #1? A wandering stream? Why?
For #2, I guess it’s spaghetti curling?
For #3, I was thinking French Braid … except it’s not braided. So, soft-serve ice cream??”
#1 – no clue
#2 – Angel hair maybe?
#3 – a search turned up a style called French Twist but it looks more like a braid to me than the twist

I wonder if it’s not a specific style, but that the hair is getting more and more stylized as she travels. Starts out as just a flood, then nicely combed, finally braided.

I’m guessing we’re not meant to match the style to the specific location. If that was the intent it should be more obvious, at least for one or two of them. Just the artist having fun with different styles as Rapunzel let’s her hair flow from different landmarks.

It was the middle scene that made me think it be a matter of locally-inspired styles: set in Italy, the hair has flyaway curls that might be like random strands from a hank of spaghetti.

I agree with Philip. I don’t think the hair styles are meant to be associated with the locations.
The leaning tower of Pisa is ~185 feet and the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower is ~377 feet. The hair in France is twisted and curled up at the bottom, so it is obviously much longer than the 377 feet. That leaves a few possibilities:
1) The pictures aren’t in order and she cut her hair sometime between France and Italy
2) There is A LOT more hair inside the top of the leaning tower of Pisa that we can’t see
3) Her hair grew over 180 feet between her visit to Italy and France
I’m too lazy to look up how high the hill is the Parthenon sits on.

OK, let’s ask!
“What is the height of the Acropolis, from the Parthenon down to the plain below?”
The Acropolis of Athens rises approximately 70 meters (about 230 feet) above the surrounding plain and city of Athens.
Total Height: The limestone rock itself stands approximately 150–157 meters (490–515 feet) above sea level
.Relative Height: It towers about 60–70 meters (200–230 feet) above the modern city level.
Dimensions: The rocky plateau is roughly 300 meters long and 150 meters wide

I think there is something to the styles but I can’t quite suss it out. It is funny that, having spent her entire life imprisoned in a tower, she visits two towers and building known for its elevation.

The hairstyles look appropriate to the locations to me. Gentle waves in Greece, curly in Italy, and a French braid. And yes, all of them are towers or otherwise elevated; that’s also part of the joke.

So, the distances are about 230, 185, and 377 feet respectively, with the braiding and coiling expanding the last one significantly. The answer is … we’re overthinking this.

Boise Ed – As the person that took the overthinking into overdrive for this one, I couldn’t agree more. But I also thought wanting to associate the hair styles with the locations was overthinking it, so I’ll just say, “They started it!” :)
