I see a couple of possibilities here: (1) The game’s televised; they don’t need to take a video on their phones, because they can see the replay later. (2) They should keep warming up, because the pitcher is gone and since the game is televised they need to stay on the television schedule. Any other thoughts?
Could be he’s trying to keep his players away from expensive lawsuits for recording and undoubtedly uploading to the social medias that are so popular with the young people. After all, “Any rebroadcast, retransmission, or account of this game, without the express written consent of Major League Baseball, is prohibited.”
I’m not sure this is distinct from the editor’s (2)… He is saying they should continue warming up simply so they will be ready for the game ; and if they think the game is canceled due to the abduction of the pitcher, they can think again since there is the television factor requiring them to go on.
They’re in the bullpen, so they’re the people from whom the replacement pitcher will be chosen. The game must go on.
What I don’t understand is why a comic about athletes draws everyone as ugly blobs.
@Downpuppy (4): Because this is the Big Butt League.
Even Cal Raleigh is reasonably fit.
