Thanks to Mark H for sending in this sweet musical 4th-wall comic!
(Technical P.S. – There are emoji(s) in the title, yes. But they do not appear in the “slug” or the URL for this post, so should not wreak havoc with the indexing!)

So evidently Arlo, but not so much Janis, is meta-aware.
Reminds me of the Arlo & Janis arc from years ago when Arlo shops for a piano. The salesman is Schroeder from Peanuts who mentions he used to play in jazz clubs but gave it up when he saw notes floating above his head. https://www.gocomics.com/arloandjanis/1997/10/15
Thanks, Blinky!
Here is that strip embedded:
Johnson did a great job on his head, and heβs wearing the canonical shirt, but the one detail that seems jarringly out of character is the size of that hand in the second panel:
P.S. I was surprised to discover that whenever circumstances permitted it, Schulz actually took the trouble to draw five fingers, and not the usual four seen in most strips:
In the CB Christmas special, the five fingers were notable for Lucy’s “five good reasons”.
@ Brian (5) – It appears that the gag was written for the special, I was not able to find it anywhere in a Peanuts strip. (Schulz was actively involved in the scriptwriting for the TV specials, but of course did not do all the drawing for them, so it’s not surprising that Linus has only four fingers on each hand.)
