The scenario of the elevator call buttons is a familiar trope for Horace :
But other intrepid cartoonists may find their way there too:

Yes, the DSOH elevator setting is kind of a trademark for him!

That was “please explain acronym”.
BTW, erm, by the way, I don’t like the new login requirement. I have not figured out how to log in under my longtime psuedonym Ooten Aboot.
I logged in via Facebook. Every attempt to log out has failed. It’s rather like being trapped in an elevator.
If you mean Dana’s DSOH, that would be “Dark Side of the Horse”, the full name of the strip which features Horace the Horse!
Sorry to hear about your login issue. FYI, it did halfway accept your first attempt, where you did not fill in name or email ; but put it in Pending queue (that is, moderation), with “Anonymous” as the name. I saw it in Pending just now, but did not mark it to appear, as it would be just redundant.
There is apparently an interaction with how one is logged in to the browser. It’s just initially when there is no browser login for the page, that WordPress invites you to choose how to post; and maybe you can skip the login if you luck into choosing the right button. FYI, I posted to Site Comments thread yesterday a screenshot of CIDU’S settings for commenting, and we do not require WP login.

On second thought I should approve it, so you (and others working on the sign in issue) can see the diff. But bear in mind, it will appear in chronological submission position, not right here.
To clarify, the old way of posting without login is to click the email icon. That gives the form for entering email address, name, etc.
@OotenAboot: you can just open a Private/Icognito tab. It won’t be logged into anything.
