    P.S. The color variations are to make it appear that they are three different wells, and/or to disguise the fact that the black line drawing was xeroxed.

    chipchristian: Yes, the different coloring threw me off totally. If they’d been the same colors I might have gotten it. Or not.

    @zbicyclist Unless you understand that the Brevity pun is perfect, you haven’t worked it through. I wrote a whole paragraph that day and, luckily, realized I was wrong before posting it.

    @ Zbicyclist (7) – The point of the gag is that “step” indicates that they are related, without sharing all of the same characteristics.
