The term “kill-o-rant” in the first panel is not meant to be an additional mystery, just something with a background that wasn’t explained again right here. For the curious, here was the previous weekday strip where the term was coined:

Bucky doesn’t want to see how much like a squid he is with his shirt off.
I think it’s rather that after Bucky finds out that humans are “animals”, he starts thinking of Rob as “food”. His suggestion to not take off the shirt is to avoid a situation in which he might be tempted to take a bite.
Intelligent Life and SuperFunPak today are both Garfield/Disney. Synchronicity or news?
What Kilby said. Not a thigh-slapper for me but I did get it, and it fits with that strip’s general aestheic.
