…and the doll in his hand is a “minion” — homophone of “minyan”.

So he’s davening “with a minion”! Ha ! Ha!

    G. M. Hopkins’s secret Jewish side :

I caught this morning morning’s minyan, king-
dom of daylight’s dauphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Falcon, in his riding
Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding
High there, how he rung upon the rein of a wimpling wing
In his ecstasy! then off, off forth on swing,
As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding
Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding
Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing

P.S. After consulting an expert in these matters, I’ve been informed that the miniature prayer associate in this picture is not “Bob”: his name is “Dave”.

On one of the news shows a rabbi was explaining that praying alone instead of with others is absolutely something Jews are allowed to do – my reaction to Robert was = what about prayers that need a minyan. Now I know the answer.
