Not the gag itself; but is there some significance to the fact that the customer is drawn in a normal manner, while the butcher’s face looks like the work of a 6-year-old with a crayon?

The concept of these strips seems to be “actual lies your parents told you in order to keep you stupid” rather that “exaggeration for humorous effect.”
