To a man … or, erm, horse … with a sledge hammer, everything looks like a demolition job.

Powers sez: Sure, but why’s he knocking the glass off?

Maybe it’s the recently uncovered feline component of his genetics?

He’s using a gavel to call the meeting order, where he inadvertently demolishes the table.

He is surprised by this, and in an attempt to make it look not like an accident, he then he pushes the glass off in a “I meant to do that” shifty-eyed manner. It is, after all, a meeting of demolishers.

    Verdict: mild chuckle.

What are the wedges in panel 2? It looks like he hit them with the gavelhammer and they created the cracks that brought down the table.

Agree with Max C. Webster, III. He demolished the table, and now he’s going to demolish the glass. All good. That was the plan all along. Wink-wink

@Carl Fink: But but… that isn’t how glass shatters. There must be more to this than meets the eye. This is a coverup for the truth. I ͏w͡il̵l̢ no̕t̸ ͠rest̡ unti͠l͞ ͘the cons͞p̸ir͢acy̸ i͘s.̛..

The broken shards are from the big star-shaped platter he hit with the gavel in panel 1. We though it was a “WHAM” effect but it was an object.

Personally I think panel three is him just going, “Might as well just break the glass, too.”
