Sunday Funnies – LOLs – November 16, 2025

The servers at the Subpoena Cafe have extra skills.

Mitch4 sends this in: “I’m calling it LOL only because the question I have does not rise fully to CIDU, nor is it a 4th-Wall thing under any narrow definition.
It’s just this: Does she pronounce it as “chitterlings” or treat that as a fancy spelling for spoken “chitlins”?”

‘Chitterlings’ is the correct spelling, but in my entire life, I’ve only heard it said “that way” once, and that was on an episode of Family Feud. Richard Dawson said ‘huh,’ and the guy repeated it, but with the usual pronunciation.

I wonder if the subpoena cafe serves bean soup?

Did you know that “bean soup” is an anagram of “subpoena”?

In the movie “Up”, the villain’s henchdogs are punished with “the cone of shame”. It’s not presented as a medical inconvenience but a symbol of failure inviting the contempt of the other henchdogs.

I don’t know if I can find it now, but I saw a video online of a group of Dalmatians, one wearing the cone of shame. There is a big bowl of kibble, plenty for all the dogs. The one with the cone goes up to it, puts the cone completely of the bowl, and gets all the kibble for himself.

So I guess for him it was a cone of plenty.

Yeah, ‘victuals’ is one of those words that tell you whether the speaker learned it by reading it or hearing it.
