Over the last year, I both (1) fell on the sidewalk and messed up my hand trying to break my fall, and (2) developed some neurological weakness and loss of control of one arm. In both cases, on the left side — which is unfortunate, as that is my dominant side.
AT NO POINT DID ANYONE SAY “Ah well, at least it’s just your left hand!”. But I was so determined to forestall that, that I would usually put in right away something about “small-bone fractures in my dominant hand” instead of just “left”.
In the box is a bottle. In the bottle? Time.
Mitch4, You’re also gauche, not that I would ever say so
Mitch4 – I was going to post and I hope it helps you a bit – I always get hurt or have problems with my left side.
When I was 3 my family would take a bungalow at beach community. Regular rules did not always apply there. I was bouncing my parents’ bed – my dad sitting next to me on the bed and mom at the foot of the bed taking out my clothes for the day. I jumped up – and – came down missing the bed. I broke my – yes – left collar bone.
In 3rd grade I had a virus in my leg – yes, the left one – and missed a good deal of school that year. (Whenever a later teacher insisted we had learned something I did not remember – always figured it was taught that year.)
In high school I belonged to a club and we met at members’ homes at night. We had a meeting and the man who was in charge of us decided we needed to blow off steam and sent us out to run around the “court” – aka coul-de-sac. I went off the curb and twisted my ankle – spent most of the rest of the year healing (got out of gym class :-) ) – left ankle of course.
Except for the collar bone every now and then the other problems revisit me again.
What’s in the box? This.
Yeah, I’m sinister!
