Drac is back

What’s the good part? Or wait, could the poster be just a distractor, and the real dream content is going to remain undisclosed? Wait wait, is all of that just underpinnings so that the point (a non-joke) is just about the very familiar kitty habit of waking their serving staff?

Well, Steve R, since “Six Chix” in fact has six different creators, their different styles and outlooks makes it hard for any blanket statement about the strip as a single entity to really apply across the board.

On the other hand, the artist for today’s CIDU, Bianca Xunise, is indeed one of the current six who stands out for gathering much reader criticism, along your lines of not making sense.

But perhaps that makes it a good test case for exercising the CIDU readership’s explanatory skills.

She’s an old maid who sleeps alone, and the only good part of her dreams is when her poster boy Drac starts getting sexy with her neck. But the goddamn cat keeps waking her up too soon.

The long message in the car is, unfortunately, very nearly real. My Chevy Bolt pops that up (only one screen, though) about every third time I get in the car. Drives me nuts.

Mitch4 (2): Gotta love that phrase “exercising the CIDU readership’s explanatory skills.”

jjmcgaffey (5): What long message in what car?

I see your puzzlement. I guess jjmcg’s comment about the long car message was meant to go in the Sunday LOLs post thread, where it would apply to this cartoon :

I have done that in the past, usually as a result of my habit of opening all threads with unread posts in individual tabs, then going to the wrong one to reply.

I wish my car had a screen that could display a long message like that. Then I would know a little more about the selection the music system is playing.

The new stereo I put in the Venerable Bronco scrolls the title, track, artist etc. information from left to right.

Brian in STL: So as it scrolls the title, track and all, you take your eyes off the road to watch it …

The scrolling is relatively slow, so it’s quite possible to glance back and forth a few times. Also, the segments of information are displayed separately. So it will put up “TITLE” on the display and after a second show the information, which is the filename for USB drives. Then repeat the process for “SONG”, “ARTIST” etc, scrolling as needed. It takes a while to get through all of them, but it does this continually, so you have multiple chances to catch the information.

I used my iPod Nano 6th gen with the old stereo. The advantage with it is that all track information is shown at once, although it too will scroll if a line is too long. See image below, in the process of scrolling the song name. I could use the iPod with the new stereo, but it’s easier to just go with a flash drive The iPod has been repurposed to be a bedside stereo setup with a set of small Aiwa speakers I found when going through stuff.

It took a surprisingly long time to find an image that showed the iPod track information, and not from a dearth of images of the device. It was a lot faster and easier to find the Ape/Huxley/Pedigree cartoon.
