In 2014, the Mizkan Group, a privately held Japanese corporation, bought Ragu from Unilever. They seem decent enough, like a Japanese Heinz, with 17 manufacturing plants in the US. If you’re into bottled sauces, you know them.
My usual supermarket carries two brands of rice vinegar products. One is Nakano, and the other Mizkan. Oddly, they are stocked in different areas of the store. The former in with specialty vinegars, the latter with Asian products.
I get whichever is cheaper when I need some. Currently I have Mizkan rice vinegar and ponzu (which is no longer carried so I got it on clearance).
