    Yes, we remember Christo, the artist made famous for his several big WRAPPING projects.

    I have no idea what the name of the “aunt Helen” strip is, but … unless his wife is also shaving him and combing his mustache, he looks in the mirror every single day. What was the creator thinking?

    Travels with Farley, or Farley, by Phil Frank (1943-2007). See Wikipedia for both. I saw his work in my college newspaper at Mich. State. Later he was syndicated nationally, but reverted to just San Francisco’s Examiner and did topical local strips with virtually no lead time. I read them from afar just because of my MSU recollection/ties and because I liked them.

    A friend of mine who’s way into maps, etc. came up with

    The strip with Aunt Helen was called Farley. Regional thing that appeared in the SF Chronicle. I always enjoyed and appreciated it; not sure if it’s still around.

    “Travels with Farley” is an old strip, written by Phil Frank. That title is a play on Steinbeck’s “Travels with Charlie”. The name was later changed to “Farley”. Frank had several strips over time, beginning with “Frankly Speaking”. Frank died in 2007.

    Christo is pretty silly, with his wrapping obsession, but I’d rather have that than rapping.

    I do love that map, and the names zbicyclist suggested.

    @ Boise Ed (10) – Even sillier than Christo’s pretentious ideas about “art” was his over-emphasis that his “significant other” (Jeanne-Claude something or other) was entitled to an absolutely equal share of the credit. It was strongly reminiscent of the dynamic between John Lennon & Yoko Ono.

    I was lucky enough to experience the “wrapped Reichstag” in Berlin, on the very last day before they dismantled it. Apparently Christo made the shared credit a condition for “approving” the project; every single newspaper report on any detail about it was careful to emphasize her name just as much as his.

    P.S. @11 – Bold fixed @10.

    I can name all the states in alphabetical order and in order of location starting in Maine. I can name all the presidents in order. I can name all of the British monarchs (starting with William the Conqueror – not before him).

    I have trouble falling asleep at night when my mind wanders – if I recite these lists in my head it keeps me focused on same and helps me fall asleep.

    Where on the map is the state of Grace? When I was a young Catholic, Father Shaughnessy told us that it was very important that when we die we are in the state of Grace.

    @ MiB (18) – As Dick King-Smith once wrote:

    Patience is a Virtue,
    Virtue is a Grace;
    Grace is a litle girl,
    Who wouldn’t wash her face.
