There’s no question about whether these two comics are (nearly) synchronous, the puzzle is why both of them showed up one day apart in November. There are no Jewish holidays anywhere in the vicinity.

Manna from Heaven was a 40 year event.
@ Kevin (1) – While that does explain the lack of a specific Jewish (and/or Christian) holiday celebrating the “event”, I still find the juxtaposition unusual. However, as with any pair of semi-synchronous comics, it may have just been a random coincidence.
Not only is there not a Jewish Holiday in November – the holiday being referenced is a SPRING holiday! (Passover)
@ Meryl – It has been several decades since I last attended a seder: what role does “manna” play in the ceremony? (I’m sure that you are not conflating “manna” with “matzoh”.)
Manna was what fell in the desert while the Jews were wandering for them to eat. The only holiday I know of related to that wandering in the desert is Passover which involves matzoh which was baked before leaving on the trip. So you are correct about my error.
My apology – I have been behind on reading comics for about a month and when I have trying to catch up – my other half has been diverting my attention with worries of his and the need to feed him – neither manna or matzoh, but rather oatmeal and ice cream (eaten in 2 separate bowls) for late night snack before bed.
