Well, I usually say “yes, that *is* the joke” when Bill says “So it’s X; but what’s the joke”.
But as Bill often says “So it’s X; but what’s the joke” I feel I’m allowed to. So it’s Santa showing up at Thanksgiving and this is three centuries before the modern christmas… but what’s the joke?
