Honestly, my first thought when I saw this was “Those pants are going to be an issue.” Anthropomorphism does complicate things…
I’m kind of creeped out they started on the entrance hallway (as opposed to the stark whiteness of the living room). I saw it was an Eww tag before Iooked at the cartoon so my first thought was the living room had been covered in bird guano.
The black-and-white-ness of the living room really clashes with the rest of the house. I find it rather distracting. The yellow hallway I think is just either the hallway light.
