I find it interesting that Mutts has been colorized here. McDonnell’s website still shows the dailies in monochrome:
When I get it in email, it’s monochrome, but it’s always colorized on McDonnell’s website, which is the one I use to send out.

On the Heart of the City GoComics comments, several pointed out that Curious George does not have. That probably means he’s an ape rather than monkey, although there are a few species of the latter than don’t have tails.
If it doesn’t have a tail it’s not a monkey:
I believe George is canonically a chimpanzee, despite the theme song’s lyric.
