    y’see, usually when someone says they’re going to move, they mean they’re going to leave the home they live in now, and locate and buy or rent a different one somewhere else.
    But (ha-ha) they meant they’d pick up and move the whole house to a new town. So when they were “house-hunting”, they meant they didn’t know where THEIR house was, not that they were looking for a new one.

    Looking at the first panel I immediately thought I was reading Blondie. Maybe the later strip’s art style was influenced by M&J?

    Seems unlikely, carlfink, since Blondie began before Al Smith started drawing M&J. And of course neither strip looked anything like this when either one started.
