The planet seems to resemble mid-century New York City, except that exotic alien life forms fill many roles that on earth are filled by machines or inanimate objects. The authors of Goomer live in Spain. Could “adultery” be a mistranslation of “adulthood”, and the listed symptoms are to be interpreted as signs of aging? Perhaps a skilled Spanish-in-Spain speaker could translate the Spanish (and I presume original) version at https://comicskingdom.com/goomer-spanish/2026-04-26 and let us know?

Jack, that would make a lot more sense. Unfortunately, “adulterio” is indeed “adultery”. That doesn’t mean that the comic author didn’t simply make a mistake, or that there isn’t some slang usage where “adultery” gets used for “adulthood”!

Maybe he means that other people’s adultery gives him hives? And he’s surrounded by the usual crop of sinners, found on that planet as well as this one.
