Danny Boy – London Derriere sends this hair-raising one in. Might be a bit of a CIDU, or maybe a Geezer Alert, although Nair is still a brand.

“This one is probably flawed by the last panel, where it seems the cartoonist gave in to the feeling that readers would need help with the senses of pivot word “down”.”

Mitch4 sends in this recently rerun Tiger strip: “The pun turns on a structural ambiguity. “That’s what they call a punching bag” and “Good name for it” (because it has ‘punched’ back at the kid who was using it) . The gerund “punching” takes on two different roles. Similar to (tho not identical to) the classic “Visiting relatives can be tedious”.”

Little late on Millennials, who are now 29-44. Especially since falcons live about 10 years.
From Wikipedia, s.v. “Stanford University”:
(Bold and ital mine.) That form of the name allows rival institutions to remark “What is a Junior University? Probably much like a Junior College.”
(Not far from my home there is a thru-street apparently classified as a Junior Boulevard. It’s named for Dr Martin Luther King.)
I was actually wondering if the pillow was saying the guy was (sort of) lying – feathers are not down (though down is feathers – the smallest, softest ones). A feather pillow and a down pillow are not the same thing; a feather duvet is much lighter (less warm) than a down one.
Backpackers are quite familiar with that, jjmcgaffey. A good down bag is a wonderful thing (so long as it stays dry).
