Maggie the Cartoonist submitted this Half Full panel from 2020 as a CIDU, commenting: “Huh?”

…
At first glance it didn’t seem that complicated, but upon further consideration I have to agree with Maggie. No matter whether those ears are comb-overs, or wind-blown, I still don’t get it.
I think one ear is “inside-out,” in that way certain breeds have (including my own East European Shepherd). I don’t think it’s a particularly good joke, but I think that’s what they were going for. What is funny is the one carrying a water bowl away from the water cooler.
But what does having an ear inside out have to do with Casual Friday? I still DU.But what does having an ear inside out have to do with Casual Friday? I still DU.
Ties on Casual Friday?
Humans dress down, and may wear fewer and/or skimpier garments on casual Friday. Canines, usually au naturel, use the occasion to dress up. Just guessin’.
Their ears aren’t perked up, so they’re being casual rather than alert.
They’re not bothering to straighten a flopped ear, maybe? Yeah, the joke is kind of reaching.
I only notice the feet – casual Friday doesn’t usually mean barefoot is okay.
Even worse, some dogs have ears that never perk and always flop. Labrador retrievers for instance. And some dogs like huskies have ears that never flop.
I, too, wondered about casual neckties.

Wondering a lot, it would seem.
I think that repetition happens in one browser but not in another, even when I’m very careful not to stutter-touch or otherwise trigger it. As yet, I’ve no idea why.
The dogs, who have bent ears, have been gossiping at the water cooler. They have been talking a lot. They have been bending each others’ ears. Merriam-Webster defines the idiom bend your ear as “to talk to someone at length”.
Hipster hairstyle
One has a bowl of water and one has a mug of water. The other two do not have any water.
Sure this is not related to the question, but it seems odd to me – why don’t both either have a bowl or a mug? Are the other two just there to waste time or have they just arrived there?
