That Mutts strip has potential for an even stronger pun if it were (partially) translated into German (“yes” = “ja”).

Falco posted a note about this in his Saturday newsletter (maybe I mean “blog post” but I get it in email).

This recent cartoon received a lot of talk lately. It seems another cartoonist did the same thing, a few weeks after mine was published and it might be a meme, too.

Over the years, so many cartoons have appeared that were the same or similar and it bothered me, but I’ve learned to get over it. There’s no way of knowing where the ideas came from, although this one cartoonist seems to have quite a few of my ideas pop up a week or two after mine are published. Coincidences, I guess.

I got this idea from a friend who actually asked me, “Are you ready for the fall?” And I laughed and said, “Of what, civilization?” And we both laughed.

Does anybody know why some comics (usually single panel) are so big? Is it my settings or does everybody have the same? I’m thinking particularly of the Falco above, and anything by Ham.

Sorry, probably my fault. If it inserts small, there’s one kind of click to drag it a little larger, and a different one to immediately expand it full width. But sometimes you intend one and the mouse does the other.

Ah but, the ones by Ham really are that big, from the get-go.
Edit: And Carpe Diem, by Niklas Eriksson.

@ Mitch (4) – Falco may have his suspicions, but if he’s going to point a finger like that, he ought to back it up with evidence.

Okay! Something I can use and discuss with our (R and me) 18th century resident friends!

We have started the 250th anniversary cycle of the American Revolution this year!
