Thanks to Chipper42 for sending this in:

They say “I assume he ran into the lobster traps on purpose. I really don’t follow the last panel.”

CIDU QUEUE REMINDER
As always — but it needs saying explicitly again now and then — we like to think of this as a heavily reader-participation site, and not just for your invaluable (or anyhow amusing) comments, but for suggestions of comics to run and discuss.
Please share your specific suggestions of panels or strips, in CIDU, LOL, OY, and CIHS (Comic I Haven’t Seen) categories, either by direct email to

(that’s “CIDU dot Submissions” at gmail dot com) or by using the handy-dandy Suggest A CIDU form page! Just as Chipper42 did!
In the first three panels, Mr. Maclellan pretends to be an oblivious kid who texts while walking and bumps into things. In the final panel, Wallace, unimpressed, lets his dad know that he (the dad) is older than he thinks, which deflates his father. Meanwhile, Mrs. Maclellan enjoyed the walking-into-lobster-pots routine and wants to see it again.
Sorry if this shows up twice – I’m not sure if my first attempt to post was successful or not.
JB, we don’t have one from you held in moderation or spam.
Thanks for the explication!
Panel 1: Clueless approaching-middle-age man texts on his phone oblivious to his surroundings. Next generation watches on.
Panel 2: Walks into lobster pots.
Panel 3: Middle age man laughs and says he is the same generation as the younger kid, seemingly in denial of how old he really is.
Panel 4: Younger kid points out he doesn’t realize how old he is. Wife points out this has happened many times before.
In panel 3 it could be the middle age man is saying walking into things while occupied on your phone is something more likely to happen to the younger generation. That isn’t the joke. The joke is the wife indicating middle aged man has been given MANY opportunities to realize just how old he is.
Different take: The dad is acting like an old man, mocking the kid, but actually grew up texting and has a habit of walking into things while doing so. The wife thinks his “accident” was legitimate because he does it a lot.
Robert has a considerable collection of James Bond related items – including models from when he was young, original edition books – US and UK, Beta, VHS, and DVDs of the movies and so on. One time – back in the 1970s to 1990s, not sure of date – we were in some store where there were a bunch of young teen boys looking at some Bond thing and arguing over something or other about it. He impressed them with which items he has and what he knew about same.
They do say the only difference between men and boys is the amount of their toys.
(Okay, I never complain about his toys as I do have an entire bedroom – plus – filled with my teddy bear (and friends) collection of all sorts ranging from a plastic one 1/4 inch tall to one from the 1980s Russia Olympics – not Russian made – about 3 feet tall.)
