@Beckoningchasm, not sure what you’re asking, but if this is the one you mean, well here ya go:

It’s a comic I don’t understand, which is unusual for Andertoons. I was just wondering if anyone else had submitted it for consideration here. I would have filled out the form but I’m supposed to be working….

Well, it works out! You suggested it, and now it is here and we can “interrogate” it!

The GoComics comments had an idea I thought was fairly good, but let’s save it until people here have had a chance.

Is that supposed to be a banana peel? Were all those people riding the whole banana which was being towed by the Banana Boat, like skiing on a banana?

On the Andertoons, is that a bottle of pepto bismol for each stomach? I forget how many stomachs a cow has.

Becky’s idea matches the one I noticed at GoComics comments and thought might make some sense.

Doing a bit of look-up: Cows have one stomach with four compartments, but people often describe it as having four stomachs. The compartments are the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum, and each is used for a different stage of digestion.

Well, it seems like there would be a different formulation for each stomach.

Definition of “Banana boat” according to wikipedia:

“A banana boat (or water sled), is an unpowered, inflatable recreational boat meant to be towed.[1] Different models usually accommodate three to ten riders sitting on a larger, main tube and resting their feet on two laterally flanking tubes which stabilize the boat. The main tube is often yellow and banana-shaped. Some models have two main tubes.”

When I was a child my late father worked for United Fruit doing computer stuff. My family got to see one or two large ships used in moving Chiquita bananas. We called these vessels banana boats.

I feel sure that the “banana boat” for which Grawlix gave the definition is what the cartoonist was thinking of. To me, however, “banana boat” is the subject of Harry Belafonte (or Stan Freberg) singing, “Day-O, Day-O, Daylight come and me want to go home.”

Though it certainly is not what the cartoonist had in mind, if we are collecting variant usages of “banana boat” I should note that some ice cream parlors use that name for their presentation of a banana split.

Banana Boat is the brand name of some sunblock products. Not that I can think of a connection.

SteveHL, I’m sure my family made references to that song as we toured the United Fruit ship. :-)

Side note: I need to remember to edit out the notations when copy/pasting from Wikipedia entries. The embedded hyperlinks appear to have transferred. I didn’t intend that.

When I have problems like that, I often paste into Notepad first, which kills any formatting or links.

@ Grawlix & Brian – There is may be an alternative keystroke for “paste without formatting”, the problem is that it is not uniform across all applications (nor operating systems).

On Windows (10 anyway) it is not a key combination that I could recall, but a right-mouse menu option.
