Seen on social media, with the speculation that this probably came from gunshowcomic.com, a static archive site for k c green’s old work. Other sites with their work are given in the tags. Their current panel feature called “God’s Hands” runs on Comics Kingdom as well as webtoons.com.
To answer the question implicit in this post’s title, the caterpillar’s “yeah” in the penultimate panel is an answer to the man (“Yes, I’m packing heat”), but the “yes” in the final panel is just a private exclamation (“Excellent, I got all that I wanted”).
P.S. This comic originally appeared as #632 on 12-Mar-2012. For those who may not have recognized the name, KC Green is best known for the “This is fine” meme, taken from his comic “On Fire” (#648, 13-Jan-2013), which later went viral and has been referenced by a large number of parody versions, many of them political.
P.P.S. What IDU about this comic is why anyone would ever be willing to accept a miniature piece of green paper as a bribe. Unless the engraving made it a fine piece of art (as JSG Boggs was able to do), it would have the same value on the open market as Monopoly money.
Always down for some KC Green. I chuckle every time I remember his “Drop Wizard” comic.
In a world where inchworms can carry guns, money, speak english and communicate with people, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility for inchworm money to have value to humans.
Inchworm, inchworm, measuring the marigolds, you and your arithmetic will certainly go far.
@Mitch4 I saw that movie for the first time less than a year ago For the 50 years before that, the ONLY thing I knew about that song (which I sang quite often) was the math part followed by “Seems to me, you’d stop and see, how beautiful they are” lyric.
So, I was quite happy to have known and understood your comment today. :-)
@ billytheskink (3) – Here’s a link to Drop Wizard. It didn’t tickle my fancy, but I thought perhaps other CIDU readers might want to see what you were talking about.
P.S. @ Anon#1 (4) – I’m perfectly willing to suspend disbelief to accept all sorts of possibilities, but I figure if a caterpillar can pack a real gun and speak real English, it should also be able to carry real money.
So, is the worm expecting a shootout, and the teeth are providing a sheltering wall?
I thought this was a maggot, or perhaps another type of necrophilic flesh eating worm-like animal. Once it’s conned its way into the guys head, it’s one quick shot and then it’s lunchtime.
Grim, I know, but that’s what came to mind.
