Comics I Don't Understand 
Another (comic) adoptee was little Kim Rosenthal in “Doonesbury”:
And of course young Kim would grow into a jaded Gen X coder grrl, attract the attention of recently-divorced Mike Doonesbury, and proceed to marry and found a company with him.
A later appearance casts a different light on our recent discussion about raisins:
The GoComics daily reruns featured Kim and Mike and their company fairly recently.
That was exactly when I quit reading the daily reruns and switched my Doonesbury link to “Sunday only”.

@ Whitey – It also explains his emphasis on Vietnam in half of the previous strips leading up to his retirement.
