A real matryoshka doesn’t have multiple identical dolls. The outermost one wears a sarafan, but the inner ones are meant to vary a lot, male and female, and end up with a tiny baby-doll as the smallest.
A friend of mine had a set that were leaders of USSR / Russia, from somebody like Gorby or Yeltsin on the outside, back thru Andropov, Brezhnev, Khrushchev, Stalin, and a tiny little Lenin.
It’s weird how certain nonsensical things in a made-up-story you accept as part of the story, and some things bother you (it’s the female mosquitos that suck blood!). Here I find myself trying to peer below the bottom of the panel to see how she can click on the mouse when her arms are painted on her side.
