It could be an odd way of saying “The moon is fully above the horizon” which in turn could mean “It’s well into nighttime now, so you should be sleeping.”
The moon looks to be simply a prop for distraction.
Billytheskink has it. It’s a “Say…what’s that over there?” ploy. And there really isn’t anything else in the scene to point toward.
If this is a werewolf family, then a full moon means Junior needs to be sedated, so, nope, still no sense.
Instead of reading the book, Samuel L. Jackson sings the Ramones song…?
It’s the functional equivalent of distracting someone by saying “Hey, your shoelace is untied!” And presumably the kid doesn’t wear laced shoes to bed, so Dad has to improvise.
This PBF comic is just one more example of the “criminally bad parenting” jokes that PBF seems to enjoy. It isn’t dated, but its number (087) indicates that it must be about 15 years old.
and just where would the sun be located in that black sky to illuminate the moon thus?
@ billybob – I agree. It looks like it would be just a little beyond the left edge of the frame, probably right above the neighbor’s roof.
